The War Within Patch 11.0.7 Adding Unexpected Character Customizations
Key Takeaways
- World of Warcraft Patch 11.0.7 adds Arathi ear options for Humans and Kul Tirans, with no unlock requirements.
- Patch 11.0.7 release date is unclear. It might come early in 2025, with more details at the Warcraft Direct on November 13.
World of Warcraft is adding the pointed Arathi ear customizations for both Human and Kul Tiran characters in Patch 11.0.7. These unexpected character customization options will arrive in the new World of Warcraft content update, currently expected to arrive in early 2025.
Though World of Warcraft has only just released Patch 11.0.5, Blizzard has already given fans a first look at Patch 11.0.7. The next content update introduces a new zone called the Siren Isle, and finally adds the Stormcrow mount World of Warcraft players have been waiting for over 10 years to collect.

However, this patch is also introducing some unexpected character customization options as well. The update is adding new pointed ear options reminiscent of the Arathi of Hallowfall for both Human and Kul Tiran characters of both body types, seemingly with no additional unlock requirements. Once the patch arrives, players should be able to choose these ears during character creation, or via the Barber Shop.
Arathi Ear Customizations in WoW Patch 11.0.7
The Hallowfall Arathi are one of the four Renown factions of World of Warcraft: The War Within. Descended from the old Arathi Empire of the Eastern Kingdoms, the people of this expedition share lineage with both Humans and High Elves, giving them slightly pointed ears. The Arathi use a combination of Human and Kul Tiran models, with a rare few using Blood Elf ones with their shortest ear options instead. A selection of similar ears for Blood Elves and Void Elves were discovered in the early alpha, but they do not appear to be included in this update.
Fans were surprised to hear they were getting these character customizations. While many expected Blizzard might include them eventually – potentially when players might contend with the new Arathi Empire in World of Warcraft – few anticipated getting them so soon, or without any unlock requirements. Using these customizations, fans who wish to make characters with mixed Elven and Human lineage, like Arator, Faerin, or Kalecgos’ visage, will have many more options than before.
At present, Patch 11.0.7 does not have a launch date, though its recent release cadence holds clues about when it could arrive. December 17 is eight weeks after the last update, but considering its proximity to the holidays, and the fact that last year’s roadmap didn’t include Patch 11.0.7, players can probably expect it early next year instead – doubly so because World of Warcraft is bringing back Plunderstorm around then. Fans can expect to hear more at the Warcraft Direct on November 13, but the patch itself hits the WoW Public Test Realm on October 31.
