PS5 Pro images compare its size to the original and Slim PS5 models
Images comparing the size of the PlayStation 5 Pro console to the PS5 launch model and the Slim version have been released.
Ahead of the console’s launch on Thursday, Sony hasn’t published PS5 Pro’s official dimensions on its website.
However, it gave players a good indication of the Pro’s size when the console was originally announced in September.
“We kept the look of the PS5 Pro consistent with the overall PS5 family of products,” Sony Interactive Entertainment’s platform business group CEO Hideaki Nishino said at the time.
“You’ll notice the height is the same size as the original PS5, and the width is the same size as the current PS5 model to accommodate higher performance specs.”
Digital Foundry has now confirmed the PS5 Pro dimensions after receiving the console ahead of its release, and it compared the size of the three PS5 models in the video below.
The images above and below, which were published by Famitsu, also show off the original PS5 model, the Slim model, and the PS5 Pro side-by-side.
PS5 dimensions
- PS5 (first model): Approximately 390 mm x 260 mm x 104 mm
- PS5 Digital Edition (first model): Approximately 390 mm x 260 mm x 92 mm
- PS5 (Slim model): Approximately 358 mm x 216 mm x 96 mm
- PS5 Digital Edition (Slim model): Approximately 358 mm x 216 mm x 80 mm
- PS5 Pro: Approximately 388 mm x 216 mm x 89 mm
It was recently reported that PS5 Slim console covers aren’t compatible with PS5 Pro.
PS5 Pro launches on November 7, priced at $700 / £700 / €800. Nishino said in a recent interview that development of the PS5 Pro started before the PS5 launched in November 2020.
On Monday Sony released the full list of PS5 titles that will benefit from the upgraded PS5 Pro hardware.
In total, 55 games will feature graphical enhancements like advanced ray tracing, PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, and improved framerates of 60hz or 120hz on day one, with “more to follow”.
