Pokemon Fan Creates Alternate Evolution for Electrike

Key Takeaways

  • A Pokemon fan created a unique Electrike evolution concept, sparking creativity and engagement within the community.
  • The new design features spikes and an Electric/Steel typing, potentially fitting for a Mega Evolution.
  • Artist BentoDraws has also crafted original forms for Mewtwo and Paradox evolution types, showcasing talent and imagination.

A Pokemon fan designed an alternate evolution for Electrike and shared the concept online. This talented Pokemon artist has drawn other equally impressive original forms in the past.

Introduced in the third generation of Pokemon games, Electrike, also known in Japan as Rakurai, is a green, canine-like Electric-type that can evolve into Manectric upon reaching level 26. Electrike has appeared in every generation that followed except for the ongoing ninth, which is set to receive a new title sometime next year in the form of Pokemon Legends: Z-A. One artist has created a possible Electrike evolution for Game Freak’s upcoming Nintendo Switch release and uploaded it on the internet for fellow fans to see.

Pokemon Fan Designs Electric/Fighting-type Variant for Snorlax

A skilled Pokemon fan artist designs a new Electric/Fighting-type variant for Snorlax, a Normal-type creature that originally appeared in Gen 1.

In a recent post on the Pokemon subreddit, user BentoDraws shared their alternate evolution for Electrike. The Redditor’s original design, with its many sharp spikes, gives off a more menacing aura compared to Manectric, a Pokemon that is known to hardly ever show itself to people. A commenter said that BentoDraws’ concept, a dual Electric/Steel-type, could pass as a Mega Evolution for Electrike. These kinds of evolutions are temporary, but provide Pokemon with enhanced stats and new skills in addition to altering their appearances. Recent rumors have suggested that Pokemon Legends: Z-A may introduce new Mega Evolutions, specifically for Zeraora and Zygarde.

Alternate Pokemon Evolution for Electrike

Community members provided all sorts of names for BentoDraws’ original Electrike evolution. One person suggested for the design to be called Maneuvolt, a portmanteau of the words mane, maneuver, and bolt. Meanwhile, another commenter said that the concept should take on the name of the Tiger Claw Zord that appeared in the 2021 television series Power Rangers Dino Fury.

BentoDraws previously created a Paradox Form for Electrike that they referred to as Iron Canine. Paradox evolutions are divided into two types, Ancient evolutions that result in Pokemon taking on the characteristics of their ancestors, and Future evolutions that give Pokemon the traits of their futuristic relatives. BentoDraws has also produced a Kalos form for Mewtwo, who is one of the strongest Legendary Pokemon in the entire franchise based on stats. The Kalos region is the setting of Pokemon X and Y from Generation 6, as well as Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

Official details regarding Pokemon Legends: Z-A are sparse, but a trailer for the title at least confirmed that it will take place in Lumiose City, which is based on the French capital of Paris. The location will be going through an urban development project when players visit it in the upcoming Pokemon game.
