The Animal Crossing franchise remains one of Nintendo’s most beloved, with love for the series seeing a major resurgence after the release of New Horizons in 2020. The Switch title has sold over 45 million copies globally, making it the second best-selling game on the console after Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Understandably, many fans of the franchise have begun to speculate that a follow-up to Animal Crossing: New Horizons may appear on Nintendo’s next console.
