And the grinding is not so harsh either, since Expeditions, Raids, and even Seasonal Events are quite easy to complete. Ever since its launch back in 2014, Elder Scrolls Online has been enjoyed by millions of fans of TES, and Zenimax has done quite a good job keeping the balance between fun and grinding in the game. With occasional expansions being released, the game doesn’t have a content vault, which means all the content is available for players to enjoy at their leisure.
It has one of the most interesting and immersive Crafting systems in the game, where players can craft unique items depending on the materials they use to make them. Grinding for levels, improving your crafting skills, and chasing after loot are added to the fact that all skills are leveled and evolve. And since the game offers mod support, getting the Skyshards you need to improve them is quite easy.

On the other hand, players’ characters can level up as they improve in their Profession Mastery levels, not only as they fight enemies while farming resources, but also as they complete requisitions from NPCs. 3 Lost Ark

- December 4, 2019
- Developer(s)
- Smilegate RPG

- Strong
- Things to grind: Gear progression, Daily Activities
- Best features: One of the best cooperative grinds ever made
Ever since Lost Ark became global, it has brought a lot to the MMORPG table, with its Diablo-like hack’n’slash gameplay, and its enthralling story. The beautiful scenarios, cool visual effects, and dynamic combat help a lot to relieve the tension of grinding for hours.
The cooperative play this game has is quite good, making completing tedious tasks a walk in the park. Even daily grinds become enjoyable when playing with friends, especially if those friends have higher Gearscore levels and can carry you around.
2 Path Of Exile
Extremely Complex, But The Grind Is Rewarding
- Released
- October 23, 2013
- Things to grind: Gear progression, Daily Quests
- Best features: Lots of things to grind, and a less punishing RNG system than in most games
Path Of Exile is another great game that allows quite a freedom of choice for players. A game that changed the way hack’n’slash games are made thanks to its flow chart style character progression system, which opened up many paths for players to create powerful and cool builds. In terms of grinding, PoE is quite moderate: Several NPCs grant Daily Quests which players can complete to get cool gear and valuable items. Some players find the RNG system of the game harsh, but it’s actually not as much as other MMORPGs like Lineage 2, which is a nightmare.
The game is also good since it allows for a lot of chill-like grinding, or more like mindlessly killing beasts to get the drops you need. The game has lots of currencies, of different kinds and values, and they can be exchanged at certain NPCs for good gear, but it is mostly that: getting more gear, reaching the resistance cap to avoid being annihilated by monsters from the end-game, and getting Divination Cards, and into Unique farming can be done without too many issues. More so if done in groups: the manier, the merrier.
1 Final Fantasy 14
Beautiful, Huge World To Explore, Lots Of Dailies To Grind
- Released
- August 27, 2013
- OpenCritic Rating
- Mighty
- Things to grind: Leveling, crafting, and gathering.
- Best features: Great environment, cool guild system, great character progression and dynamic storytelling
What is it that people love so much about Final Fantasy 14? The answer might lie in its progression system, based on the classic FF classes, which have been considerably expanded throughout the years, with new classes added with every DLC. On the other hand, the grinding system allows players to hit max level, and then dedicate themselves to level up Crafts, which are the professions in the game.
Gathering and crafting go hand in hand, and similarly to most MMORPGs, it is quite common to have every gathering and crafting skill. So, players will be mostly grinding that, which is not so bad after getting used to it. Then, Daily Tasks such as Treasure Hunts, Mini Cacpot, and the Tribal quests, for example. Of course, there are also lots of weekly quests and activities as well, but they are not as time-consuming as in most similar games.
