The Davis Cup Finals is shaping up to be an extra special tournament this year, as Rafael Nadal prepares to say goodbye to tennis on home soil wearing his nation’s colours in front of an inevitably partisan crowd.

The 38-year-old has stated he will only play if he feels able to contribute to the team. He is expected to play doubles at the very least.

Reigning champions Italy return with a strong line-up of singles and doubles players, including world No. 1 Jannik Sinner.

USA boast one of the strongest teams based on rankings, but it’s a wide open competition, with Argentina, Australia, Canada, Germany and the Netherlands also in the mix.
