Thankfully, the game has quite a lot of Pets with benefits that can alter a player’s experience – some of which include a Pet that gives mid-air advantage, a companion that modifies the player’s Gloo Wall, one with nifty detection skills, and another that gives players a support buff.

As with other battle royale titles, Garena Free Fire would have players enter the battlefield via dropship and head to a destination. However, players who manage to travel the skies will find themselves parachuting to open land – with their outlines becoming rather obvious to nearby enemies who look hard enough, leaving them open for interception. Where Kactus shines is its ability, Self-Sufficient. This is only triggered when its owner stands still and doesn’t move for six seconds, after which they start restoring 10 EP per second. This bonus stops as soon as players move or jump. Despite this rather simplified nature, the EP generation on rest incentivizes much more timed plays – especially for players or teams whose strategies focus on jumping from one safe haven to another.
