While three or four players might be a more common number to get playing together, there are a lot of games today that will support lobbies of a much larger size. It can be difficult to choose what type of game will be good for everybody to play together, but there are some marvelous options available that can include anybody, from veteran gamers to relative newcomers.
Updated on October 11, 2024, by Chris Harkin: The gaming industry hasn’t changed much in the last couple of years. Single-player games continue to exist, and even make up a large percentage of AAA games perhaps. But the vast majority of playtime put in by players across the industry is in co-op. With whole groups of friends engaging with each other primarily through gaming together, it is of continuing importance to have a lot of opportunities for larger groups of players to work together, or against each other, in a co-op game. It is also unlikely that the prevalence of games good for six or more players will go away any time soon, making it pivotal to stay on top of some of the very best games with these sorts of options.

Valheim is a game that can be incredibly difficult to get to grips with and to make progress in. This is definitely one of the more grind-filled survival games, set in a procedurally generated world that is inspired by Norse Mythology. Valheim is exciting but it takes a lot of work, and that becomes a lot easier with friends along for the ride.
